WOW, what a fantastic article. While reading Ghamrawi's (2014) article "Multiple Intelligences and ESL Teaching and Learning: An Investigation in KG II Classrooms in One Private School in Beirut, Lebanon" I could not help but think about how closely aligned Reggio Emilia pedagogy is with Multiple Intelligence (MI) pedagogy.

A little bit about the article....

This study emphasizes the importance of using MI in EAL classrooms, particularly in

the teaching and learning of vocabulary. It suggests that through MI instruction, the

retention of acquired vocabulary is higher.

Some quotes from the article that spoke to me:

Reflection

In response to answering my big question "How can I enhance the oral English language learning of EAL students in preschool?"

This article has given me a lot of insight when it comes to planning provocations and learning experiences for preschool ESL students. Catering these learning experiences for the eight multiple intelligences outlined in this article, will help build vocabulary and provide language in a meaningful context. Students are competent in guiding their own learning, and providing materials and learning experiences that have various MI qualities, will help students better learn the language associated with that experience.

This leads me to the next question that will help me find the answers to my big question, "what strategies can I use to teach EAL students language that is meaningful and will fit with their MI?"
