I was so excited when I came across Government of Alberta's (2009) "Working with Young Children who are Learning English as a New Language." First of all,it is Canadian. Second, it really contributes to the answers of my question. This resource so far, has been the most relevant to answering my big question. Some of the aspects overlap from other resources and for me, I see that as a reinforces of the effectiveness and usefulness of those aspects.

Reflection
The strategies used in this article remind me of the visit our ECE 445 class took to the preschool class at ___ school. The teacher had pictures of the student's families posted in the classroom (see in images) and encouraged a lot of parental involvement in the classroom and at home.

The teacher uses parents as resources to teach the preschool class about their language, culture, food, and background. I think this gives students a sense of pride, and makes them feel very welcome and valued in the classroom. creating this environment fosters ELL learning creating a supportive environment. these activities in the article can be done at home and in the classroom to help the students, as well as the parents learn English.
There are many valuable strategies in this article that I can see having so much effect on a positive ELL learning experience, I am happy I found this resource.
